StayNTouch, Fuel Travel, and ReviewPro Partner to Release Comprehensive COVID-19 Hotelier Sentiment Study

StayNTouch, Fuel, and ReviewPro have partnered to release the COVID-19 Hotelier Sentiment Study. The study surveyed almost 500 hoteliers to discover how COVID-19 has impacted their business, the actions they’ve taken to mitigate the financial impact, and their sentiments about future travel and the road to recovery. The study segmented respondents based on geography, independent or branded status, number of properties and job title, and sought to identify ways that hoteliers can capitalize on new opportunities presented in the “new normal” of hospitality post-COVID.

“There is no doubt that the COVID-19 pandemic has hit the hospitality industry especially hard,” said Stuart Butler, COO of Fuel, “but our industry has always been innovative and resilient. Many of the hoteliers we surveyed have already taken steps to respond to the enhanced health and hygiene concerns of returning travelers.” Specific findings from the survey include:

  • Approximately half of the hoteliers surveyed plan on reopening with 25-50% fewer staff members than they had before the pandemic hit.
  • Only 41% of respondents believe that their business will fully recover in occupancy and RevPar within a year. 58% of respondents say that they are either “confident” or “very confident” in their businesses’ eventual recovery.
  • Over 70% of hoteliers are actively planning for recovery, with business recovery plans ranging from pure cost-cutting to enhancing SOP and hygiene, to reappraising their sales and marketing strategies, to some combination of the above.
  • Approximately half of our respondents said they plan to invest in mobile technology or some form of guest messaging post-recovery.

“We see that hoteliers are considering a range of strategies to better position their properties for the new expectations and demands of travelers post-pandemic; including enhanced hygiene policies and contactless guest touchpoints via technology”, said Nicole Dehler, VP of Product Development at StayNTouch.

Boyne Valley Hotel & Country Club Chooses StayNTouch’s Mobile PMS

Drogheda, Ireland 一 StayNTouch, a cloud-based mobile PMS provider, has recently completed the installation of their Rover Mobile PMS and guest-facing mobile check-in solution, Zest Web, at the Boyne Valley Hotel & Country Club in Drogheda, Ireland.

StayNTouch Remains Committed to Customers and Growth After Trump Administration’s Order

On Friday, March 6th an executive order was issued by President Trump ordering StayNTouch’s parent company, ShijiGroup, to divest from StayNTouch. Although we disagree with the executive order, we will fully comply in a way that will not disrupt the business or operations of StayNTouch or StayNTouch customers.

Despite Shiji’s full cooperation and best efforts to assure the government otherwise, the U.S. Government has cited Shiji’s potential access to StayNTouch guest data as a threat to national security. Shiji does NOT and has never accessed the guest data of StayNTouch customers–period. Shiji offered a range of significant proposals to mitigate any concerns the U.S. Government might have, including further restricting access to guest data and appointing an independent monitor to ensure these protections. Unfortunately, these proposals were not accepted.

StayNTouch has grown tremendously as a product and a business over the past 18 months, nearly doubling the number of hotel properties in our portfolio. We fully intend to continue that growth and further cement StayNTouch as a leading Hotel PMS provider in the industry. Although StayNTouch has been a subsidiary of Shiji, we have always maintained legal and operational independence from our parent company. This remains true for our operations, processes, system development, roadmap, and all other structural elements of our business.

We will remain fully committed to providing all of our customers with the StayNTouch standard of service including 24×7 support, a fully dedicated customer success champion, and an always-current product resource hub. We will also continue to develop our product roadmap and are excited to release a number of innovative new features in the coming weeks.

Although we will be going through another acquisition, we remain committed to the success of StayNTouch and will continue to ensure that our customers’ business, operations, and experience with the StayNTouch PMS are fully supported.

Newly released 2018 Guest Experience Assessment provides valuable insights to hoteliers on guest engagement

StayNTouch, Travel Tripper, and TrustYou have partnered to launch a new report that examines guest experience trends and their adoption in the hotel industry. The report provides key insights and takeaways to empower hoteliers to improve their own guest-driven decisions and gain a better understanding of the market.

The study surveyed more than 300 hoteliers in the U.S., Canada, and key hotspots around the globe on questions regarding check-in technology, upsell opportunities, guest communication, and more. Some key findings:

  • 41% of respondents do not offer their guests a choice of check-in method;
  • 70% of respondents never or only sometimes convert upsells or upgrades at check-in;
  • 68% of respondents recognize the need to improve their use of mobile technology to improve the guest experience.

In addition, the survey also reveals interesting trends about guest communication and staff responsiveness, mobile booking and check-in, the use of guest data to improve guest stays, and the ability of hotels to capture guest feedback and act upon it.

The study allows hotels to see where they stack up in comparison to their peers, as well as offers important takeaways on how hotels can move the needle forward on improving the guest experience through technology and data.

Frewoini Golla, Director of Marketing for StayNTouch, noted why these findings are critical for the hotel industry.  “By and large, hoteliers understand the importance of offering a unique guest experience, but understanding and evaluating the current state of the guest journey is critical for hoteliers to begin making the necessary strides in their guest engagement strategy,” she said. “We are excited to have worked alongside our partners at Travel Tripper and TrustYou to offer hoteliers this comprehensive guest experience assessment report.”

Fuel Travel, StayNTouch and Flip.to Examine the Alignment Between Hoteliers and Vendors in New 2018 Hospitality Technology Study

Fuel Travel, Flip.to and StayNTouch joined forces to conduct an extensive study of hundreds of hoteliers and suppliers to learn where the industry can improve from a technology perspective. Exclusive copies of the comprehensive study will be available at this year’s HITEC in Houston at booth’s #1003 and #1133.

The study addresses technological shifts and trends, highlighting critical issues the industry faces. Moreover, the study identifies where hoteliers and vendors are aligned, and where they differ, in the perceived priorities and challenges the market faces. The results are compiled from 358 respondents, all of whom are involved in the process of purchasing or selling technology within the hospitality industry.

The study’s insights show that improving the guest experience is a top priority amongst both suppliers and hoteliers, and there was a consensus between hoteliers and suppliers that the need to improve integration between existing products is imperative when selecting a new provider.

In addition to the strategic focus, the study also sought to understand what emerging technology and tactics would make an impression in hospitality in the foreseeable future. Artificial Intelligence stood out, with 43.5% of hotels wanting to increase spending on this evolving tool in the next 2 years.

SnapShot and StayNTouch Partner to Provide Hotels Across the US with a Smarter Analytics Tool

SnapShot, leading provider of fully integrated applications and analytics for the hospitality industry, announced today that it has joined forces with the American hotel property management systems company, StayNTouch. Through this partnership, StayNTouch customers will have complimentary access to SnapShot’s trademark Analytics dashboard, which provides hoteliers with in-depth insight into their properties’ happenings, on and offline.

SnapShot Analytics aggregates pricing, benchmarking and PMS data, as well as TripAdvisor reviews, social media statistics, and Google Analytics, all of which appear on a single, easy-to-use dashboard. StayNTouch Expands Partnership with Valencia Group

Hospitality Management Company to Move Entire Portfolio to StayNTouch Rover PMS

StayNTouch, an innovator in mobile technology and Property Management Systems (PMS) for hotels, announced the deployment of its Rover PMS™ solution to Valencia Group’s portfolio of seven independent hotels.

“Last year we discovered StayNTouch and decided that we wanted to take advantage of the platform’s mobile capabilities,” said James Watts, Vice President of IT at Valencia Group Inc. “We wanted to put PMS-enabled tablets into the hands of our staff using the PMS Overlay product on top of our legacy PMS.”

“However, the terrific level of StayNTouch quickly underlined the support problems we were having with our old PMS provider, with whom we never had any responsiveness to our problems,” James continued. “We began to look at the full StayNTouch’s Rover PMS in detail and realized that it could not only run our hotels, but it would provide the mobility features coupled with high-touch service. The full StayNTouch Rover PMS is currently deployed at Valencia Group’s Cavalry Court in College Station, Texas. The remaining six portfolio hotels, Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, Hotel Valencia Santana Row, Hotel Sorella City Centre, Lone Star Court, The George and Hotel Alessandra will roll out the PMS in the Fall.

The Dewberry Transforms the Guest Experience with the help of the StayNTouch Mobile PMS

To provide guests the choice in check-in and check-out methods, The Dewberry has Rover PMS™ running on Windows Surface devices at the front desk and on staff tablets throughout the hotel. The housekeeping staff employ the Rover Housekeeping™ feature of the PMS and the hotel will roll out Zest Web™ shortly to allow guests to check in and out using their smartphone.
